Boots No7 Beauty Haul

IMG_5782

Hello there

Oily skin is the one thing about my skin i find hard to work with.

When it comes to foundations and finding the one that will last through the day without melting off. Keeping any foundation on my nose and chin is a big struggle, until one of many many trips to Boots which i stumbled upon No7’s beautifully matte foundation.

IMG_5785          IMG_5778

I’m in the lightest shade Cailco. There is 30ml of product and it is £13.50.  There is 14 shades to choose from and at the moment its in the buy 1 get 1 half price.

The claims of this foundation are:

  • Matte finish
  • Best for oily skin
  • Medium to full coverage
  • Hypo allergenic
  • Shine free for up to 12 hours
  • SPF 15
  • Minimizes pores

For me I have to say this foundation is working wonders for me. I found that all points above were met and defiantly will be using this as my holly grail product.

The foundation blends effortlessly and gives me great coverage over any of my scars and acne. The colour is perfect and blends in naturally with my neck. I didn’t find any flash back when i took a photo either.

I put this foundation to the test and wore it to work as i find any time i wear makeup in work it doesn’t last the best throughout the day. The foundation hung in there for me through the day i only had to powder once and it really didn’t have much shine. My makeup looked as fresh as it did when i first applied it in the morning.  My nose and chin had foundation on the whole day and didn’t melt off.

The packaging is sleek and compact and doesn’t take up much room in my makeup bag or handbag. The bottle is also matte plastic which is safer than a glass bottle.

I have wore this foundation everyday since I bought it. I really do recommend this foundation to anyone with oily skin and at their wits end when it comes to keeping your makeup on through the day.

The second item i bought with the offer was the No7 translucent powder. it costs £10.50 but got it for £5.25 in the offer.

IMG_5783 IMG_5784

This is a velvety soft fine powder that doesn’t crease or feel cakey and drying on the face. There are 4 shades to choose from but translucent is perfect for me as the other shades would look to dark on my face.

I love this powder and I also think it works well with my new foundation. Great duo 🙂 The packaging is a little on the bulky side but that doesn’t put me off.

I found this powder lasted all day with just a little touch up but i kept my concealer under my eyes on all day.

I really am happy with my two amazing finds and i hope it works out for all you oily face sufferers 🙂

Besame Cosmetics

Hello there

In one of my recent Sephora orders I picked up a matchbox lipstick sample for $6 which i loved and I decided to order the full size.

IMG_5040 IMG_5041

Besame cosmetics was created by Gabriela Hernandez who is an artist, cosmetic historian and a designer. The company was founded in 2004. Besame Cosmetics recreate and reproduce the classic luxury makeup from 1920 right up to 1950.

I bought on the of the lipsticks in the colour Besame Red. This lipstick was inspired by Gabriela’s grandmother’s original 1940’s lipstick bullets.

Besame Red 1920 is a cooler blue toned red with a semi matte finish that is highly pigmented. I have found it leaves a slight stain on your lips which I’m happy with as it won’t disappear to quickly through the day. I found this lipstick light and easy to apply.

IMG_5326 IMG_5332

The packaging is out of this world. Feels and looks special and small enough to fit in my handbag or makeup bag.

Its $22 – £14.92. There are 6 shades of red to choose from so you should be able to find the right red for you.

I love this lipstick and will be adding more to my collection.

Superdrug Haul

Hello there

While strolling along the aisles of Superdrug I noticed Gosh cosmetics have a new foundation out. The Gosh Foundation Drops. I picked up the colour ivory 002. Currently £9.99 normally £12.99.

A few drops from the pipette provide a natural flawless medium coverage and I found glided onto my skin smoothly and easy. I did apply it with my beauty blender and finger tips but i found my beauty blender the best as it gave me great coverage and I only need to spot conceal the recent breakout.
The foundation is light with a unique texture which i found blends beautifully and drys perfectly. The finish is natural with a buildable coverage for any areas you might want a little more concealing.

The foundation contains argan oil and antiderm for a soothing and hydrating effect. It also has a protective and anti-flammatoric actions.

I have noticed other companies coming out with foundations with the same idea but for £9.99 I thought now is the time to try the drugstore version.

I’ll keep you all posted on how I get on 🙂

Finally Maybelline have released the Colour Sensational Matte Lipsticks. I loved the look of these lipsticks when i saw they had been released in America and couldn’t wait for them to come to the UK.

I picked up two colours. Divine Wine 975 and Siren In Scarlet 965. £6.99 each buy one get one half price.

The colour pay off is fantastic as all you need is one swipe. The lipsticks themselves although matte are creamy when applying which don’t pull or catch on any dry bits. They feel comfortable when wearing through the day.

The are 6 shades currently available ranging from nude to bright to deep fall colours.

Overall I’m very happy with what I picked up today. I will keep you all posted on how I get on 🙂

Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick

emmabeautyhauls

Hello there

On many of my online trips to Sephora I decided to add one of the Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks. Having watched so many blog posts and YouTube videos my wish list of products tends to get longer and longer.

I added the colour BauHau5 to my basket as i feel the colour will be perfect for night out with the girls or even a afternoon of retail therapy. It cost $20 – £13.57.

My love for matte lipsticks has grown very strong so after seeing some reviews on BauHau5 I knew this would be the best colour for me.

BauHau5 is a deep raspberry with a matte finish.

IMG_5336IMG_5339

There are 28 colours to choose from making it very hard to only add one to my basket.

I found when applying the liquid lipstick it was very easy to apply as it has a doe foot applicator…

Hello there

I have been on the search for a blue eyeliner that isn’t to in your face and I found It for only £4.99 on 3 for 2. Maybelline have a great range of colours now and I’m so happy I stopped to have a look.

It’s called Sapphire and it’s beautiful. It’s the prefect blue that can be used everyday or you can build it up for more of a pop of colour for a night out. It last a long time which is a plus as I have watery eyes.

When applying the liner it glides on easily without pulling on the lid or lower lash line. Its smudge proof, water proof and available to 4 shades.

IMG_5017_3

Another liner that caught my eye was the Maybelline Colossal Smokey Pen in Chocolate £5.99 on 3 for 2.

This is a long wearing chubby pencil that can also be used in the brows which i have tried and it works 🙂

This is a lovely chocolate brown that I use for daytime looks or on my night time looks buy smoking it up with the pointed tip. I find the liner easy to apply and it smokes out beautifully.

I’m not great at smokey eyes but this liner really helps me achieve that look.

IMG_5012

IMG_5014 IMG_5015

IMG_5017_2

The bottom swatch is the liner and then it smoked out.

The last Maybelline product i picked up was the Lash Sensation Mascara Waterproof. I bought the original one that came out and I loved it but as i find mascaras smudge quickly on my bottom lash line I was happy to find this mascara in waterproof.

This mascara lasts all day without smudging or any fall out when it dries. The wand manages to get mascara on lashes I didn’t know I had giving me really long lashes.

I do grab for this mascara to the original. I also got this for £5.99 and it was on the 3 for 2 🙂

IMG_5018 IMG_5019

The next stand I worked my way too was Gosh. The first product i noticed was the new Gosh Velvet Touch Matte Lipsticks. I picked up two in the colours 006 and 008.

They were £6.99 each and on 3 for 2.

006 Is a matte raspberry which has great pigment and stays one for about 5 hours before i noticed it wearing off.

IMG_5028_3

008 Matte Plum – When I swatched this colour I was a little disappointed that the pigmentation wasn’t a bit darker.

IMG_5028

IMG_5024

Packaging is matte black and its nice and compact. The lipsticks are not drying and easy to apply. Plum needs a couple of goes to build up the pigmentation.

The last product i picked up was the Gosh Lip Pencil in 007 Pink Pleasure. This is a velvet touch waterproof lip liner. I love the colour and it works perfectly with the lipsticks. I found it soft and easy to blend. It was £4.99 and in the 3 for 3

I really love this colour and it dries beautifully on my lips. I found it lasts for most of the day and mains the pigmentation without fading.

The packaging its amazing. slim and sleek and fits perfectly in my handbag. I love the floral design which makes it stand out from other products I have.

I already have some more colours added to my Sephora basket and can’t wait to make another order 🙂

Boots Holiday Haul – Skincare

IMG_4854

Hello there

For the first time in a long time I headed to the skin care aisle in Boots before makeup. Even though I’m not going on holiday until October I picked a few items up that will come in handy.

I love getting new eye creams and I love Yes To range which luckily enough was on offer so i picked up the Yes To Grapefruit uneven skin tone dark circle correcting eye cream. It was £7.99 normally £11.99 and you get 15ml/0.5fl oz.

IMG_4866

When I used this I found it lightweight and it doesn’t leave the eyes feeling greasy after. The claim with this cream is that it’s been clinically proven to help diminish the appearance of my super dark circles in 4 weeks. So for the next 4 weeks I will be putting this to the test. Hopefully it will help fingers crossed.

Since heading away in October it won’t be as hot as in the summer months I still picked up factor 50+ facial cream as I have the typical Irish milk bottle skin.

I noticed the La Roche-Posay Anthelious XL Anti shine Dry Touch SPF 50+. It cost £12.37 for 50ml normally £16.50 but the offer at the time was 25% off the Anthelious skin care range.

IMG_4865

Reviews were positive on boots.com so since I haven’t tried this yet I can’t share anymore on how it works out for my oily skin but when I review my holiday I will include how this goes.

Indeed Labs have a new stand with some great products that have arrived. I picked up the Hylamide Low Molecular HA Multi depth Re-hydration Booster. I picked it up on the introductory offer for £13 for 30ml/1fl oz. It will be £18 after the offer.

IMG_4861

This serum has 5 hyalornic complexes:

  • Very low molecular HA
  • Hyalorinic acid ferment
  • Hydrolyzed HA
  • HA pre- curor
  • Plante HA

You apply this once a day. This will be nice addiction to my skincare as with all the traveling and sun my skin will need a bit of love and care.

The last item is the Skyline cosmetic purse. This is a great size for my handbag. It was £5 which isn’t a bad price for this handy little bag.

IMG_4870

I can’t wait to try all these products out since that will mean I’m on holiday 🙂 I bet you can tell I’m a little excited.

Rose’s Beauty Store Haul – Anastasia Beverly Hills

IMG_5073

Hello there

So many more makeup releases seem to happen in America making it so hard not to jump into a plane and go and fill a suitcase. One brand I see is Anastasia Beverly Hills. No stores carry it here and I have seen it in Amsterdam on holidays I just didn’t know much about the brand then.

When i searched the brand their online store did come up but the reviews were very mixed. Also customs and duties would prob cost a pretty penny when they got here.

A website that did flash up was Rose’s Beauty Store. Here’s some info about the store:

  • Launched in 2010 on eBay with the goal to offer customers US products
  • All taxes, vat and customs are shown within the price of the product
  • They carry loads of brands including Anastasia Beverly Hills 🙂
  • Something that I love is if there’s any products not on the online store you are looking for you can email and they will try to help you

Lets get to what I picked up:

Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipsticks

IMG_5075

I have watched so many swatch videos and have looked at so many pictures on these lipsticks and I have fell in love with them. The only problem is I wouldn’t get to swatch in person. I through caution to the wind and ordered two 🙂 They are £24 each.

  • American Doll
  • Carina

These are full coverage highly pigmented liquid lipsticks that dry matte and last all day.

IMG_5082 IMG_5083

American doll is described as a true red and its beautiful. I’m not one for wearing reds everyday makeup wise but I wore this twice since getting it and can’t get enough. It feels comfortable on my lips and doesn’t feel drying.

Carina is described as a hot pink. I love this colour as its the perfect colour for summer thou summer at the moment in Ireland is more like winter at the moment. The colour payoff is great. I did find it needed a second coat as it was a little streaky.

Once these liquid lipsticks set there is no transfer as it means having that snack during the day won’t remove any beautiful lip colour. I’m very happy with these and I have ordered another one which a review will follow soon.

I did treat myself to one more thing. I picked up the Maybelline Blushed Nudes Palette. Since its taking ages for Maybelline to bring this palette over to the UK and Ireland I had to add it to my basket. Plus it was £12 not bad since that includes tax and customs.

IMG_5086 IMG_5091 IMG_5087

IMG_5097 IMG_5093

I found when swatching these shadows the deeper colours pigmentation is better than the lighter colours. I still like this palette and it has a few colours that i love to use constantly.

I love this site and recommend it to anyone wanting to find some must have US products. I hope this review helps you cross a few things of your wish list.
